WHAT DO YOU WANT HER TO KNOW?

What do you want her to know?

To start off our discussion I pose a question: What do you want your daughter to know?  What is it that you wanted to know at her age?  Do you have the courage to tell her, to sit and have a candid conversation with her, to look her in the eye? Or are you avoiding and hoping she picks it up along the way? Can you tell her what you want her to know in love and not like someone is pulling your teeth or are you terrified because of your past?  Terrified of someone finding out something that has kept you in bondage for so long?

I dare you to take God at his word, to believe that He is who he says he is, that he has not forgotten you, or  forsaken you and that what he has promised in his word will come to pass.  Talk to your daughters, tell them what you want them to know, share with them why you are over protective, why you are rough, why you reject them when you know they are hurting, why you dismiss them but don't mean to.  Tell them about your relationship with your mother and what you needed to hear as you were growing up.  Tell them the things that may have made a difference in the choices you made in life.  Tell them before it’s too late.

Tell them how never hearing I love you made you seek love in all the wrong places.  Tell them how abandonment and rejection made you build a wall around your heart to keep the hurt out and there by people also.  Tell them why you are the way you are and if you don't know why, then begin to ask God to show you, teach you, put you in the place where you can get help to understand why you are the way you are.  Be willing to face yourself, take courage and be brave and search, because if you truly want a better life for your daughter you owe it to yourself and to them to go on this journey.

Often we think of a better life as material possessions but I am learning that it is also emotional and spiritual well-being , we can have all the material possessions in the world and still be the most miserable people in the world.  People will look at us and think we have it all together but on the inside we are miserable, unhappy people, dying on the inside and often times we don't know or understand why.  Take back the power that God has given you over that thing in your childhood, life etc. stop letting it run, rule and reign over you.

You are the victor here don't you know that? The battle has already been won and there are no losers.

So Be Brave, Be Courageous, Be Beautiful, Be Gorgeous and Be STRONG!

TELL YOUR DAUGHTERS! WHAT YOU WANT THEM TO KNOW!
